1. Where our business data comes from

Records in Restaurant Signals are assembled from sources that are public by design:

• Municipal construction, transformation and occupancy permit records
• Provincial food-establishment licences (MAPAQ) and liquor permit filings
• The Registraire des entreprises du Québec (REQ)
• Commercial property listings and lease turnover notices
• Announcements and contact details a business has published about itself

Every delivered record carries a link to the public source it came from, so any customer can verify a row independently.

2. What we will not collect or sell

• Personal telephone numbers, personal email addresses or home addresses
• Anything behind a login, a paywall, or a private social account
• Purchased consumer datasets, or lists whose origin we cannot trace
• Special-category personal information of any kind

Where a record names an individual, it is because that person is publicly identified in a business capacity — as an applicant, owner or officer on a public filing, or in material the business itself has published.

3. Removal requests

If you operate a business that appears in our data and you want it excluded, email us with the business name and address. We remove the record from all future deliveries and add it to a permanent suppression list, normally within five business days. No justification is required. hello@rovanta.solutions

You may also ask what information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected. Same address, same timeline.

4. Your responsibilities as a customer

Rovanta provides information. How you use it is your obligation, not ours. Commercial electronic messages sent to Canadian recipients are governed by CASL, which requires a valid basis for contact, accurate sender identification, and a working unsubscribe mechanism. Buying data from us does not create consent on your behalf. Customers are contractually required to comply with applicable law, and to honour any removal request they receive directly.

5. This website

We collect as little as possible. Specifically:

• Contact form. The name, company, email, optional phone number, category and message you submit are emailed to us and stored so we can reply. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share this with anyone.
• Server logs. Our host records standard access logs (IP address, page, timestamp, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These rotate on the host's schedule.
• Cookies. This site sets a session cookie used only to redisplay your form if a submission fails validation, and a language cookie remembering your English/French choice. There is no analytics tracking, no advertising pixel and no third-party cookie.
• Fonts. Typefaces come from your own device where possible. On non-Apple devices a fallback face is requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.

6. Retention

• Contact form submissions: kept while the commercial conversation is live, then deleted within 24 months.
• Customer delivery records: kept for the duration of the engagement plus the period required for tax and accounting purposes.
• Suppression list entries: kept indefinitely, because their entire purpose is to keep excluding you.
